Police Parking Lot Blacktop

The Adrian Police Department plans to become operational on Monday May 3 at their new home at 155 E. Maumee Street per Chief Terry Collins. Before they can move in the police parking lot has to be installed for their vehicles. Today Slusarski Excavating & Paving from Adrian put down the blacktop.

Parks & Forestry Staff Landscape Courtyard

Landscaping work around the new Police Station and City Chambers has started. City of Adrian Parks & Forestry employees Steve Chesher, Jim Karle, and John Knauss planted annuals in the courtyard between the new Police Station and the City Chambers building on Tuesday April 27, 2010.

The base of the parking lot behind the Police Station is being prepared for asphalting.

Sidewalks at last

After many months of being closed, there is now a sidewalk in front of the City Chambers building and Police Station. The sod won't be far behind.

Sidewalk installed at new Police Station and City Chambers buildings

Workers from Frank's American Concrete Inc. in Adrian are installing the sidewalks in front of the new Police Station and new City Chambers building. Sod will be layed in front of the buildings soon.

Courtyard Between Chambers and Police Station

Initial landscape work has started on the courtyard which is located between the Chambers and Police Station. A Japanese Maple tree was relocated from the old city hall to the courtyard. Per City Forester Robert Gentry this tree is a slow grower which will allow it to be a focal point in the back of this garden for years to come. Robert has facilitated tree plantings in the City of Adrian for the past ten years! Each year he celebrates Arbor Day by choosing a special location for a tree planting. Was this a early Arbor Day celebration? Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. Founded by J. Sterling Morton in 1872, it's celebrated on the last Friday in April.

Curb and Gutter Work in Police Parking Lot

Krieghoff-Lenawee's crew are installing the curb, gutters, and driveways in the Police Parking Lot and the concrete generator pad.
