Over the last week significant work has taken place in the parking lot behind city hall, library and The Croswell Theater. Changes take place daily as city DPW workers and contractors strive to get the majority of the work completed in time for Art-A-Licious which takes place September 17 and 18. These photos show the curb and gutter work.

The sidewalk area immediately north of city hall is being transformed into a open plaza area similar to the brick area behind the library. The circle driveway, flower bed, and trees have been removed. The flags poles were temporary removed and the sidewalk has been demolished to make way for the new plaza. City Hall is still open for business and we hope you will pardon the dust while we complete this transformation. The Bank of Lenawee time capsule that was located in the circle flower bed has been recovered and will be given to First Federal Bank.

City of Adrian Department of Public Work employees continue to work on the parking lot behind city hall in preparation for the installation of a bioswale. The bioswale is a environmentally friendly retention basin. When completed it will run the length of the parking lot and capture run off from the parking lot. The photo looking down on the parking lot was taken from the second floor of city hall. Please visit city hall and check out the view.
